Buderim Mountain sits some 200 metres above sea level and is volcanic in origin, covered with rich red soil. It's name comes from the local Aboriginal word for the hairpin honeysuckle, Badderam, which grew freely on the Buderim slopes. The first permanent settlement occurred around 1860 with the Buderim Mountain State School following in 1875. Buderim's first rural produce began with timber gathering, giving way to the farming of sugar cane, bananas, citrus, coffee and of course, Buderim Ginger which is a brand name now recognized around the world.
Boasting stunning ocean views, rainforest walks, acreage properties, sensational sub-tropical climate, golf courses and the internationally renowned University of the Sunshine Coast, Buderim is situated only minutes away from world-class beaches and the central district of Maroochydore. Over 30,000 people now call Buderim home reflecting the desirable coastal lifestyle and features that it provides residents, investors and visitors and being positioned one hour north of Brisbane and 15 minutes to the Sunshine Coast Airport makes it a central location for the best of all worlds.
